House GOP attempts to pass bill with special exemption for ‘Caucasian Individuals’
House Republican leaders will attempt to pass a controversial spending cuts bill today that would cut Medicare services to everyone in America except for the disabled and “Caucasian people over the age of 65”.
The chief supporter of the bill, Rep. Tom Cole (R-Ohio) says he is not concerned about the backlash about the bill and points out it is not illegal in any way to limit services in this fashion. “The Constitution places no requirement on government to enact laws that serve everybody equally. This bill stays within the legislative framework our Founding fathers intended.”
Another supporter, Rep. Jack Kingston (R-Georgia) also says the legislation makes sense. “It’s important to us that we do not alienate the only voting bloc we have left, this bill will ensure that the people who primarily vote Republican will be looked after.”
The bill, known as H.R. 1528, was promptly blasted by Democratic lawmakers and NAACP President Benjamin Jealous. “It’s absolutely unconscionable for us to proceed with this legislation, I cannot believe Rep. Cole would seriously support such discriminatory nonsense.”
Jealous echoed those sentiments, calling the bill one of the most awful and blatant examples of racism since the 1960s. “I knew they didn’t like black people, I knew they were scared because a black man is President now, but even I didn’t think they’d take it this far.”
The NAACP has already signaled its intent to launch nationwide protests against the bill and Jealous also indicated support organizations for Latinos and other minorities are jumping on board as well. “We will be heard, we will not be silenced” he said sternly.
The bill actually stands a reasonably good chance of passing the House, where the Republicans hold a sizable majority, but it will almost surely be defeated in the Senate.
